BE a Superhero!

superhero_boysI have 3 boys, 2 of which are crazy about superheros. Their favorite thing to do is to dress up as Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Mr. Incredible… The list goes on, and on. I watch as they transform from my little boys to characters they admire, and fantasize about being one day when they “grow up”. They can save the world, anyone who is in danger THEY can throw on their capes and masks and save the day!
I asked my oldest once what he wanted to be when he grows up and his quick answer was simply, “I want to help people.” This warmed my heart on so many levels. Maybe it was the many episodes of Spiderman he’s watched, or all the times we’ve sat together and watched the Incredibles.
OR maybe it was witnessing other real life superheros helping real life people in need.
On June 24th Stories Foundation will be hosting our first Superhero 5k Family Walk/Run, from 5-9PM!
At the Superhero 5k Family Walk/Run my boys get to dress up as ANY superhero they wish to be, and actually BE a superhero! They get to participate in standing up for justice, and spreading hope and awareness. With each step they take they are helping to STOMP on human trafficking, SLAVERY!
Not only are they going to walk, and fight injustice they also will witness many others who are doing the same. They will be walking with real life superheros, people who want to see the end of modern day slavery, people who want to do good and make a difference in the world we live in today.
My boys may like a good Spiderman episode, but they are going to LOVE  walking with and being REAL superheros!
I can’t think of a better way for children to witness people helping people.
My son doesn’t have to wait to grow up to “help people”. He can throw on his favorite costume and take a stand for justice by walking on June 24th at the Superhero 5k Family Walk/Run, and your children can to!
Register today. Make the choice to be a REAL LIFE superhero, walk for freedom, stand for what is right and just, and maybe the next time your child wants to dress up as a superhero they’ll be putting on your favorite hat, or sweat shirt.
