RENTING LACY

The average age of entry into prostitution in America is 13 years old. Forced into a life they never chose, manipulated, abused and tortured at the hands of the pimps who control them, our country's children are sold on the streets, on the internet and at truck stops across America every night. They aren’t bad kids who made bad choices. They are victims of child sex trafficking. They come from our neighborhoods, our schools, our churches, and sometimes our own homes. Author Linda Smith brings to life characters based on real stories and interviews with teen survivors. Meet Lacy and Star as they reveal the underbelly of our country s commercial sex trade. Get to know the men who sell them, and the ones who buy them. Let Renting Lacy draw you into the lives of these young girls as they struggle to survive each night, watching their childhood hopes and dreams slip away in the darkness. Let it compel you to action.

MY FLAWLESS ONE: STRIPPING, TRIPPING, STRAYING, AND PRAYING

Raised by a single, alcoholic mother, Kjersti desperately seeks love and belonging in all the wrong places—whether she’s dancing onstage at the strip club, hiding in a series of broken relationships, or binging on drugs and alcohol. When she hits rock bottom, she finally finds acceptance and restoration in her higher power.

In this authentic and raw memoir, Kjersti clears away a spot in the steamy window of a strip club dressing room, allowing you to peer inside the complicated world of the sex industry. You’ll experience the struggle of addiction, the vulnerability of sobriety, and the miracle of healing though friendship and prayer.
If you’ve ever felt lonely, without purpose, or like you just don’t fit in, My Flawless One will give you hope. You’ll fall in and out of love with Kjersti and fear and cheer for her. Kjersti’s journey is our journey from rejection into a loving embrace.

THE SLAVE ACROSS THE STREET

While more and more people each day become aware of the dangerous world of human trafficking, most people in the U.S. still believe this is something that happens to foreign women, men, and children--not something that happens to their own.
In this powerful true story, Theresa L. Flores shares how her life as an All-American, blonde-haired 15-year-old teenager who could have been your neighbor was enslaved into the dangerous world of sex trafficking while living in an upper-middle class suburb of Detroit. Her story peels the cover off of this horrific criminal activity and gives dedicated activists as well as casual bystanders a glimpse into the underbelly of trafficking. And it all happened while living at home wihtout her parents ever knowing about it. Involuntarily involved in a large underground criminal ring, Ms. Flores endured more as a child than most adults will ever face their entire lives.
In this book, Ms. Flores discusses how she healed the wounds of sexual servitude and offers advice to parents and professionals on preventing this from occurring again, educating and presenting significant facts on human trafficking in modern day America.

FALLEN: OUT OF THE SEX INDUSTRY & INTO THE ARMS OF THE SAVIOR

In Fallen, Annie Lobert tells her remarkable story of surviving sex trafficking with sixteen years in the sex industry, breaking free, finding healing, and then reaching back to help others find freedom as well. This riveting memoir opens a window into a sordid, shadowy world of sex trafficking but shows just how bright God's light can truly shine in the darkness.

Allender, Ph.D.; Professor of Counseling Psychology, Founding President; The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology“This book is heartbreaking. Not in the pain that it describes –which is horrific – but in the beauty that it calls out to in the midst of the pain.” - Christa Foster Crawford, Anti-Trafficking Consultant, Trafficking Resource Connection, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Children at Risk, Fuller Theological Seminary, School of Intercultural StudiesShe was only four years old when she was sold into the sex trade. White picket fences and steepled churches all guarded secrets that were not ever supposed to be told. In kindergarten, she began praying every night that Jesus would let her die. In second grade, she sat in church on a Sunday morning swinging her feet from a wooden pew behind the man who had paid to rape her the night before. Her perpetrators were from all walks of life. An engineer, a police officer, a bait shop owner, business men, farmers, younger men and old; different men all feeding the same lust. The only thing that they had in common was their brutal love for little girls. She shouldn’t have survived it. If God had answered her prayers, she wouldn’t have. Here is the true account of how she was brought out of captivity and into a life of freedom.
